The bad news is, Covid-19 is causing many --if not most --
companies go into slow-down mode. The good news is, some
usually busy people probably have more time and inclination
to have informal conversations with you – aka, informational
interviews. It’s a great way for you to gain insights into particular
kinds of work that appeal to you, or to learn about opportunities
in industries or specific companies of interest to you. We’ll discuss
how to find and contact people, preparing for your conversation and
the kinds of questions to ask. You’ll find that people actually love to
talk about themselves, the work they do and the companies they do
it for. Given current availabilities, now’s a good time to reach out
- via Zoom or phone – and simply invite them to.
